Aromatherapy is the use of essential oils or essences which are extracted from the bark, flowers, fruits, leaves or seeds of particular plants. These oils are diluted and used to help patients to relax amd increase their sense of well being by massaging the oils into the body, breathing in vapour from the oils or adding them to a bath.
There are numerous different oils available to treat specific symptoms such as headaches, stress and tension, aches and pains and allergies. Patients usually feel relaxed and some claim even to feel rejuvenated.
