Dozens of different symptoms and illnesses are thought to be amenable to treatment using this technique although there is no real scientific evidence of its benefits. However, there are clear benefits of massage including foot masasge which do produce a state of relaxation and increased blood flow and may therefore help in certain conditions.
The idea of a foot map for the whole body has yet to be proved scientifically.
