Reverse Medical Tourism


Escalating medical and insurance costs is making healthcare out of reach of the ordinary American citizen. At the same time it is giving impetus to medical tourism by forcing patients who cannot afford healthcare at home to seek cheaper options elsewhere.

The irony is that reverse medical tourism is also becoming very common. This means that patients who can afford the exorbitant rates in the US hospitals prefer to come to the US for their treatment or after care with the added enticement of an attractive vacation package.

Whatever be the case the end result is medical care is gradually getting out of reach of the ordinary citizen in any country,be it in Asia or in the west.
