Off Shoots

A cottage industry as the result of medical tourism is what they call it. And it is anything but cottage in scale. When escalating health care costs are forcing more US citizens to look abroad fro their treatment it is opening veritable gold mines for others who arrange the facilities for these patients.

The American Health care system is said to be dysfunctional. It has 47 million people without health coverage, and 130 million without dental insurance.

Who benefits? India, Thailand, Mexico, Costa Rica, Malaysia and Singapore It is estimated that 150,000 Americans go abroad for their treatment and this number shows a growth rate of 15% to 20% annually and get the best treatment at a savings of 30% to 80% in five star luxury.
