Full Acrylic Denture

Appliance to replace all teeth in either or both arches (jaws).

Description

This procedure will require several visits (usually) with days between each visit for laboratory processes. The appliances are either made entirely of acrylic or a combination of acrylic and chrome.

Medical Facts

For those who have never worn a denture before, there is usually a period of time before your mouth feels fully adapted to the denture. The most common feeling are changes of speech, excess salivation and feelings of "overfull" mouth. Eating may be a little awkward at first. These symptoms usually pass over time. Initially there may be some rubbing of the gum which causes a little pain and ulceration; however, the dentist should be able to make adjustments to address this.

Single Day In-patient Care

The gum may be a little bruised and swollen after surgery but it is usually fine within a few days. Requires single Day In-patient Care.
